July 30th - Pierre's Echo Bay Marina

TWe arrived at Pierre's at 11:30.  Hobbit was already there - they came in yesterday.  We went to say hello to Morris's & Ihrigs & Rod checked in.  They were just getting back from catching 4 Chinook.  Rod went to get Carolyn a roll of vacuum pack bags.  Tonight there is a prime rib dinner & cocktails at Morris's before.  You don't have to bring anything.  Tomorrow night there is no planned dinner so we'll get together & barbeque steaks & eat on our flybridge.  Then Sat. night is the pig roast which you bring sides for & Sun. Hobbit is leaving.  We'll be here until Mon. & will then go to Kwatsi Bay for 2 nights.

When we eventually went back to the boat, Rod had left the door open & Shadow was outside under the dinghy & then started wandering around the boat.  I couldn't watch so I went up to the store to see if I could get emails & post the blog.  Interestingly, the blog went immediately & my emails were not downloading so I went back to the boat.  The door was closed when I arrived & apparently Shadow was inside being disciplined because he'd jumped off the boat on to the dock.  Prior to that he'd been racing around the deck.  Rod saw him jump off & picked him up & put him inside.  What can I say - good thing I left.  He's been trying to figure out how to escape ever since but now is sleeping.

Carolyn & Dee came by for a visit after they walked to Billy Proctor's "museum."  After they left I put our sheets in the laundry & will do our towels in the next couple of days.  There was a lineup waiting to use the washers.  Several women were advising me on how to deal with Shadow being outside.  One of them definitely thought that if he went into the water he would not do that more than once but thought that should be while we're at anchor.
