July 4th - SYC Ovens Island

Well, we're still here!  It's looking like we'll try to cross the straits on Mon.  It's going to be another hot one here.  Last night another boat came in around 7pm so we were back to 6.

3 boats left today & 3 came in, all saying it was a very windy trip.  The last boat coming in was a 60' wooden boat built in 1924 by Hacker/Defoe Shipping Company - Bo Peep II.  The owner's wife's father bought it in 1951 in Texas.  It's been in the family for over 60 years & now it's moored in a boathouse in Tacoma.   There are pictures on the blog.
