July 15th - Blind Channel Marina

We pulled anchor at 6:45 - temp was 62' & water temp was 70'.  Dale & Nancy left around 6am.  I think we were the second boat out.  It's about a 5-1/2 hr run to Blind Channel & the Captain was timing the Yuculta, Arran & Dent Rapids to go through at slack.  These are all close together.

We arrived at noon.  We checked in at the store & bought some lettuce & a couple other things. The marina was pretty full & by early evening all the spots were taken.  It got up to 67' here & we had a little drizzle during the day & when we went to dinner.

The Aurora Explorer barge (that Rod & Mike Ackley went on in Oct.) came in this afternoon for people to explore & walk up to the giant cedar tree that is here.

We had dinner reservations at 6:30 - we each had ling cod and a yellow & red beet salad.  Rod had strawberry rhubarb shortcake & I had a liquor creme brûlée for dessert.

    Please share a "great job, Skipper" from us for his plotting a course/time that allowed safe transit of all 3 rapids. We're wondering how the 'Contain the Cat' project is working out for you now that Shadow has demonstrated his ability to navigate tiny little opportunities for egress. All good here on Kalispell, though we're missing you next door!
