Aug. 9th - SYC Cortez Outstation

A boat left around 7am from the outstation so we took its place.  Last night it was very rocky, rolly out in the bay.  I got up at 12:30am & sat in the salon for awhile as I was feeling a little nauseous (& I don't get seasick ever).  Eventually Rod came up to see what I was doing.  It rained most of the night & it sounded like the wind was really blowing.  I left the flag out (normally I bring it in every night) & I think I heard it whipping around.

Thís morning we woke up to lots of blue sky & it was 66'.  Eventually it got up to 74' - very nice day.  The outstation is packed today with 26 boats - 7 rafted which we've never seen here before.  There are 3.large boats anchored out as there was no room for them here.  We have a lady rafted next to us who I used to work with at People's/US Bank - Salły Johnson.  She was dropping someone off who was flying home on Kenmore & picked up another passenger.  She isn't going to stay here overnight - she's headed back to Predeaux Haven.  We used to run into her in Desolation every year but haven't seen her the past 2-3 years.

We'll be here a couple of days at least - today did 3 loads of laundry in the SYC room.  Tomorrow will do 2 loads of our laundry on the boat.  Barbara, the baker, was here tonight (she comes every day to SYC & Royal Van).  We bought 2 scones & 4 of her oatmeal cookies with white chocolate chips & cranberries.  She said that both outstations are full, so we ordered a focaccia bread for tomorrow.

Tonight we are having some of our halibut with panko & the rest of the bean salad.
