We walked to the store at 10am. We assumed that the liquor store wouldn't be open until then but it's inside the store & is open 8-8. It was 70' at that time so still cool enough to walk - it's about 1-1/4 mi. from the marina. It was up hill most of the way which meant downhill coming back.
The marina filled up today - they can't hold a lot of boats. Yellow Fin didn't come in so there are 3 powerboats where we are - boats all together.
This afternoon it got up to 82' & then a high overcast came in & temp dropped to 72' by 2:30 & then back to 78' at 3:20 with blue sky & sun again. At 4 pm the temp dropped to 67' & wind picked up to 15-1/2 knots from the south. Very odd!
Tomorrow we're going back to the SYC outstation at Garden Bay (Pender Harbor), leaving at 6:30am. One of the SYC boaters who is always on the BC Boaters Net at 5pm (& in fact is leading it this week - they alternate people) raves about the chocolate milkshakes at Lavern's (?) which we think is a walk from the outstation. Other SYC boaters on the net have been going there too since Tom raves about it so much - we'll be heading there as well. Tom's wife, Mary Ann Liebert, ran a nonprofit in Seattle to prevent teenage pregnancies. I was on her board in the 70's...small world. We've run in to them, mostly in the Broughtons, but didn't see them this year.
