June 30th - Reid Harbor

We left the house at 6:45am with beautiful weather & waters.  As we hit the channel, the Swinomish Indian crab boats were all getting ready to leave.  They went slow past the town of La Conner but sped up immediately, with no concern about the no wake zone which goes to the bridge.  I think we saw at least 3 dozen, maybe more, with 2 people on each.  They stopped to bait their pots around Saddlebag Island.

We passed thru several fog banks on the way to Reid Harbor - even had to put the fog horn on.  Temps got down to mid 50's until we got thru it.  We got to Reid at 11:25 & it was 65.  Rod got a great tool to help us hook on to a buoy so we didn't anchor - something he saw on YouTube.  There were lots of boats when we arrived & more came all day.  Ended up with 35+ boats.  It got up to 75 this afternoon - very nice with minimal wind.

Shadow has been hiding out all day - he started up on Talia's bunk, then went to his kennel & spent the rest of the day hiding on T's bunk behind pillows on top of her folded sleeping bag & blanket once the engines stopped.  You couldn't see him without moving the pillows.  We haven't been able to entice him out so I think he didn't like the ride here.  Finally Rod brought him up yo the salon around 7pm & he lay down by me.

Dinner tonight was corned beef hash from our favorite corned beef place in Seattle.
